An Easy Steak Recipe!

Everyone loves a good steak.. a strip loin or rib eye perhaps. One of my favorite quick and easy recipes to attempt for dinner is a quick and easy pan-seared steak.

Ingredients

2 (10-12 ounce) steaks
1 teaspoon salt (kosher is preferred)
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon of oil (i prefer olive oil)
2 tablespoons of buter
2 thyme springs
2 garlic cloves (crushed)

How do I make it?

1. Let steaks stand for about 30 mins to an hour at room temperature.
2. Sprinkle Salt & pepper over the steaks. Heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat. Add oil.
3. Add steaks to pan and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side or until browned.
4. Reduce heat to medium-low, add the butter, thyme, and garlic.  Now, tilt the pan to one side so that the butter begins to pool. Cook for 1.5 minutes while basting the steaks with butter constantly.
5. Remove the steaks from the pan and cover with a bit of foil! Let the steaks stand for about 10 minutes and you are done! Remember to save the butter mixture for sauce.

Easy as 1..2..3.. or 5 in this case!
